I'm a huge fan of Fokofpolisiekar, their music is the first of its kind in Afrikaans, their lyrics, the first of its kind in South Africa. Their words are attached to emotions that was indescribable at that point. Their success is also partly due to the fact that it was synonymous with the zeitgeist that was being conceived in most white Afrikaans Post-Apartheid youth that suffers of the "white guild" we now have to "un-offically" endure (obviously up to a certain point). I also believe that many South African band were helped by their originality, and we now have Amazing music of all kinds, much rather listen to S.A. music than anything else (except infected mushroom)

Thanks so much for passing along the information. I was a little confused as to the whole dynamic between the old band and the new one. Also, since I hadn't heard Condensate yet, I just figured that they would play some songs of the album to promote it, but now I know better than to assume anything when doing a public write up.

That is not The Original 7ven, and they didn't perform any songs from Consensate, that's Morris's other touring band Morris Day and The Time, not all original members

Question answered. My junior high school students here in Japan often play this song over the PA system during lunch. When I would ask who the singer was they would describe her to me as fake. Now I understand what they meant.

I agree, it is a good play and worth seeing. I could identify with the characters in the play, since I too have lost close family members over the years. The play isn't too preachy but it strikes the right notes in it's references to scripture.
